Adventures in technology – pupils of the Büren grammar schools are fascinated by mechanical engineering
This year 41 physics pupils of the 11th grade of the Büren grammar schools took the opportunity of taking part in the regional BINGO experience on 25 June and were given an insight into the world of engineering professions at Wöhler Brush Tech.
The machine specialist in Bad Wünnenberg has been organising this event for several years now in cooperation with the Liebfrauen grammar school in Büren, presenting the diversity of engineering activities found alone in this medium-sized company.
BINGO is a professional offensive for engineers in OWL, supported by the state of NRW and the regional branch network OWL Maschinenbau, of which Wöhler Brush Tech is a member. The initiative was founded to advance the engineering profession in science interested pupils and make it more attractive.
In well-planned workshops graduate engineers of the company presented the practical side of mechanical and industrial engineering to the keen and interested pupils. These were fascinated by the exciting examples and in particular the opportunity of being given an insight into the development, design, production, assembly and electronics departments.
A closing round of discussions in the group offered the perfect opportunity for interaction not only among the pupils but also between them and the company. Dipl.-Ing. Matthias Peveling, managing director, explained the company’s commitment to the BINGO experience by saying: “Investing in young people is an investment in the future of the company!”
The BINGO experience is an important element in promoting future professionals and we are sure that Wöhler Brush Tech will participate again next year!
